God Makes the Best Plot Twists: Trusting His Plan Over Ours
Share
We’ve all had moments where we mapped out our life perfectly then watched everything fall apart.
The job didn’t come through. The relationship ended. The opportunity we were praying for... closed.
And in those moments, it’s so easy to think:
“God, what are You doing?”
But what if the closed door is a holy redirection?
What if the delay is a setup for a divine plot twist?
Because here’s the truth:
God writes better stories than we do. Always.
We Can’t Predict What God Is Planning
You may be praying for a specific outcome, timing, or breakthrough.
But God isn't following our timeline; He’s orchestrating an eternal one.
And while it might not make sense in the moment, the Bible tells us:
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."
— Isaiah 55:9
That means:
📅 The plans you made for this year? He may be rewriting them.
💔 The thing you lost? He may be replacing it with something eternal.
🙏 The prayer you think He ignored? He may be answering in a bigger way than you imagined.
Think About Joseph...
He was betrayed, thrown in a pit, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, and still ended up second-in-command over Egypt.
That’s not just a comeback. That’s a divine plot twist.
Joseph didn’t plan it.
He didn’t predict it.
But he trusted God anyway.
And what others meant for evil, God used for good (Genesis 50:20).
You Can Let Go of the Plan
Here’s the hard truth (and the freeing one):
You don’t have to figure it all out.
You don’t have to have a 5-year plan that works perfectly.
You don’t need to know what comes next.
God is weaving together beauty, purpose, and redemption in ways you can’t even imagine yet.
Trusting God’s Plan Looks Like:
🙌🏼 Surrendering control, even when it’s uncomfortable
📖 Spending more time in prayer than in panic
💬 Asking God to open the right doors, not just the fast ones
💌 Believing that “no” is just redirection, not rejection
✨ Holding the pen loosely, and letting Him write the story
Final Thoughts: His Plot Twists Are Exquisite
God is not surprised by your detours.
He’s not scrambling to fix what feels broken.
He’s been orchestrating every moment with precision, love, and purpose.
So if your story doesn’t look the way you imagined, take heart and give yourself some grace.
💛 The Author of life is still writing.
💛 And His plot twists are better than anything you could plan.
