A Devotional for the Girl Who’s Waiting on God’s Timing

💗 Waiting feels like a never-ending test.

If you’re in a season of waiting, on answers, on direction, on a promise, you may feel overlooked or forgotten. The days stretch on, prayers seem unanswered, and doubts creep in. You might wonder if God has forgotten your name or if His promises still apply to you.

“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” — Romans 8:25

The truth is, waiting is not wasted. God is working behind the scenes in ways you cannot see, preparing your heart, your future, and the blessings He has already written into your story.

💐 Waiting is not punishment

It’s easy to believe delays mean you’ve done something wrong or that God is holding back good things from you. But Scripture shows us that waiting is often a sign of His love, not His absence. David waited years to be king. Sarah waited decades for her promised child. Jesus Himself waited until the “appointed time” to begin His ministry.

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.” — Lamentations 3:25

God’s timing is not meant to hurt you but to prepare you. He knows the weight of the blessings you’re asking for, and He’s shaping you into the person who can carry them well.

🌷 Waiting grows faith

When life moves fast and everything falls into place, we don’t often lean fully on God. But waiting builds roots of faith. It teaches us to pray when answers aren’t immediate, to trust when doors are still closed, and to believe when the finish line feels far away.

“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles…” — Isaiah 40:31

Waiting isn’t passive. It’s active trust. It’s choosing to believe that God is good, even when the timeline doesn’t match your own.
