A Devotional for the Girl Who’s Scared of the Future

💗 You’re not failing, you’re just facing the unknown.

If your mind is spinning with “what ifs,” late-night overthinking, or quiet fears you don’t say out loud… you’re not alone. It’s normal to feel scared of what you can’t control. But just because the path is uncertain doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong one. God’s plans are still good, even when they feel blurry.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

You don’t have to map it all out. You don’t have to feel brave every day. God isn’t asking you to figure it all out, He’s asking you to trust that He already has.

💐 God is already in the places you’re afraid of

He’s not just with you in this moment, He’s already standing in the tomorrow you’re worried about. The job you haven’t landed yet, the relationship that hasn’t started, the doors that haven’t opened… He’s there. Preparing. Protecting. Providing.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…” — Matthew 6:34

You don’t need all the answers to move forward. You just need enough peace to take the next step.

🌷 Uncertainty doesn’t mean you’re off track

Sometimes, the seasons that feel the most unclear are the ones that grow us the most. You don’t have to see how it all works out to know that God is working. He’s not pacing the floor in heaven, wondering how your story will unfold. He’s writing it: with love, purpose, and perfect timing.

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall…” — Psalm 37:23–24

Even when the path feels crooked, God is still directing your steps. Even when you’re scared, you’re still held.

💌 Let this be your reminder:

You don’t need the whole picture to take one step.
You don’t need the timeline to trust the process.
You don’t need to feel fearless to walk in faith.

You’re allowed to be nervous and still move forward. You’re allowed to not have it all figured out. And you’re absolutely allowed to trust a God who always shows up.
