A Devotional for the Girl Who’s Going Back to School
Share
💗 You’re not unprepared, you’re stepping into a new season.
If your stomach is tight with nerves, your mind is racing with “what ifs,” or your heart feels heavy about walking into new hallways or classrooms… you’re not alone. Going back to school, whether it’s high school, college, grad school, or even night classes, can stir up a wide range of emotions. But this transition isn’t just about academics; it’s about who God is shaping you to be in the process.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
God isn’t sending you into this season empty-handed. He’s sending you with His presence, His wisdom, and His strength.
💐 God is already in your new semester
The first day jitters, the unknown professors, the friendships that haven’t formed yet; God is already there. He’s not just watching from the sidelines; He’s walking every step with you. He’s in the classes you haven’t attended yet, the study groups you’ll join, the conversations that will shape you.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
When you give your semester to Him, you’re not just handing over your workload... you’re inviting Him into the little moments, the big decisions, and the unexpected challenges.
🌷 Your worth isn’t measured by your grades
Yes, excellence matters. Yes, hard work honors God. But your GPA is not your identity. You are loved the same on your best academic day as you are on your hardest. God isn’t keeping score of your achievements. He’s nurturing your heart, your character, and your faith in the middle of it all.
“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
You’re not defined by test scores, acceptance letters, or class rankings. You’re defined by the One who calls you His.
💌 Let this be your reminder:
You’re allowed to feel nervous and still be ready.
You’re allowed to step into something new without knowing how it will all work out.
You’re allowed to pray for help and still show up wholeheartedly.
💕 Before you go…
Here’s your gentle reminder:
🌸 You’re not starting over, you’re starting stronger
🌸 You’re not walking in alone, you’re walking in with God
🌸 You don’t have to have it all together to be exactly where you’re meant to be
